Three concentric rings of geometric pattern create the Edinburg border. In the center, little birds light on prunus sprouting from an exotic foreground pot of peonys. In contrast, a background arch cuts away to a romantic view of castle and moat.

Surviving examples would seem to indicate that "Edinburg" and "Ivanhoe" must have seen great favor with the public. Both share the sturdy utilitarian ironstone body, sensible shapes and consistent teal or slate blue in their color offerings.
