Wedgwood offers a softer-profile variation of their "Etruscan" shape in this lilac jasper dip cream pitcher. Decoration consists of a single sprig group on each side trimmed by a band of laurel above and below. The two classical groups are "Icarus and Daedalus" and "Bellerophon Watering Pegasus."
Wedgwood's lilac jasper occurs in a range of tones from a grape-y lavender to a near beige. Our example would be found on the grape side of the continuum.
