John Wedgewood achieves an easy sense of airiness in his "Tippecanoe" pattern. A continuous net of fine scale seaweed provides the ground pattern for a border covering the rim and continuing midway down into the bowl. This border is enhanced with groups of flowers and amoeba shape floral reserves. In the center of this teal green fantasy, a turbaned guide beckons us to the bit of garden where he stands in attendance upon a reclining pasha. Across a river we note a wonderfully detailed structure possessing both middle eastern and oriental elements. Additional structures and mountains create a sense of perspective as they recede into the background.
