Medallions of Lady Templeton's "Poor Maria" and "The Bourbonnaise Shepherd" become the focus on each side of this Wedgwood light blue jasperware urn. Heavy floral garlands framing the medallions are caught up at each side by elaborate white jasper anthemion-scroll handles. Leaf filligree borders surround the neck and base of the vase while a leaf border around the foot relates to the floral garland. Most striking is the upper silhouette of the vase featuring the unusual rolled collar of the neck framed by the dramatic curves of the handles.
