A happy Robinson Crusoe is seen strolling along the beach (with one of his happy goats in attendance) in this view of "Crusoe Finding The Foot Prints."  We have to point out that one's powers of observation must be as sharp as Robinson's to spot the footprint hidden next to some foliage in the lower right foreground.   Brownhills executes the pattern in brown transfer on their ivory body with yellow, blue and green enamels.  The enamels are particularly effectively defining the land and sea -- and happy Crusoe's umbrella. 

The eight inch size used here was the largest Brownhills offered in the plates of their ABC series.  While the registry number on the reverse indicates 1887 introduction, the "England" notation indicates production after 1890.
