This Hollins smear glazed jug features a turned neck and upper handle overlaid with a brown wash, engine turned vertical bamboo flutes to the lower quarter and a somewhat naive hunt tableau sprigged in sections over an orange peel textured ground.

A similar jug is illustrated with a group of Hollins pieces in the 1982 exhibition catalog of the Northern Ceramic Society Stonewares & Stone Chinas of Northern England to 1851, (p. 119, Pl. 210, no. 232)
