Wedgwood's five lobed lidded box shape is executed here in dark olive green jasper dip. The primary sprig decoration on the lid features a Trojan War tableau while cupid groups decorate the lobes around the base.

We would like to know the origin of the pentefoil shape box. While it offers spaces for a variety of sprigs, it contrasts the classical restaint of most of the pottery's shapes. We most often refer to it as the amoeba shape.
