With "Faisan" Minton evokes the far east by floating geometrically framed images over a freely flowing flowering branch. The circle motif featuring the faisan (pheasant) contrasts with a dark rectangle with iris in silhouette. A Chinese fret border separated into five sections with prunus reserves is perfectly adapted to Minton's unique flat flange plate. Polychrome enamels in blue, green, yellow and pink create a sherbet-y effect with Minton's black transfer on a whiter than usual body.

In the world of aesthetic transfer Minton's "Faisan" stands as one of the most sophisticated of the Japanese inspired compositions. The addition of polychrome enamels is an added dessert to this luscious pattern.
