A busy small scale chinoiserie panorama wraps the body of this unique footed piece. The inner rim of the mug sports a conventional blue ground border design combined with unusual stencil-like florals and patterns which continue on the handle.

This mug was potted with no expectation beyond the utiltarian. The pattern is truncated to fit the piece, there are drips in the glazing, stray ink spotting and even some peppering in the bottom. Still, we admire its cheerful honesty.
