T. & R. Boote's "New Yosemite" pattern gives us a chaotic patchwork of aesthetic embellished diagonals, ground patterns and decorations executed in brown transfer with blue enamel highlighting. Vignettes of country scenery accompanied with sprays of prunus anchor the pattern with a distinct blend of Japanism and American pride. The little square handled covered dish was most likely used for butter.

T.& R. Boote's "New Yosemite" pattern is noteworthy for its often cartoon-like scenery. In other pieces, the pattern seems to pay homage to the great redwoods of California.
