Description:	A classical tableau featuring Icarus and his father Daedalus--the youth already wearing wi... A classical tableau featuring Icarus and his father Daedalus --the youth already wearing wings in preparation for his fatal flight--centers a rich crimson ground on the lid of this square box. Four corner florets and a dense floral border complete the lid decoration. The sides of the base are ornamented by groups of cupids, making merry or making mischief. More

Dimensions:	Square, 4 in. ; Ht 1 7/8 in.
Condition:	Fine; slight traces of characteristic red "bleed-through" on white sprigged relief.
