Wedgwood demonstrates its unique elegance in this pair of simple, medium height, light blue jasper dip candlesticks. The narrow vertical shafts are perfectly fitted to the single standing figures of Apollo or a muse or the naturalistic trees that separate and frame the figures. A simple band of laurel is placed just below the candle socket, while the foot of each stick is decorated by Wedgwood's own band of stylized honeysuckle.
