Simple twig handles set off a restrained decorative scheme. Wedgwood utilizes figures from two standard tableaux separated by a tree at each handle to decorate the exterior of the bowl. A floret diaper decorates the lid of this piece.

We note that the interior of the bowl is glazed to seal the porous body making it useful for flowers as well as potpourri.

Wedgwood's simple decoration here reflects the changing taste of the day to more restrained traditional interiors.
