A full brown transfer alphabet is flanked by enamel dabbed vignettes;in one a girl stands by a fence and cottage; in the second, two cows, grazing and lying down, a fence, mother and child. Both scenes are framed by a Victorian swirl of vines.

Given the weight and body of these mugs, we feel they are most likely a Staffordshire product, contemporary with and capitalizing upon the success of the Brownhills pottery in this type of ware.
